I created this blog out of my love of pop culture and my desire to communicate interesting, entertaining information about its artists, history and impact on society. My essays are based on my opinions and personal experiences growing up immersed in rock music and other forms of art. I often present information that I obtain from biographies, memoirs and Internet reference sites. All data and information provided on this site is for informational purposes only. Hip Quotient makes no representations as to accuracy, completeness, suitability, or validity of any information on this site and will not be liable for any errors, omissions, or delays in this information or any losses, injuries, or damages arising from its display or use. All information is provided on an as-is basis.

My essays are accompanied by images and videos that help communicate my messages. Many of these are my personal photographs. However, I do not own the rights to most of the images on this site. I have either scanned the images from publications that I purchased, or I have downloaded photos and videos that appear in various forms on many different websites. If a photographer’s name accompanies a photo, I do include it. However, most images do not contain any ownership information. If you have taken any of the photos or videos that appear on The Hip Quotient and would like either credit or their removal, please contact me immediately.
