Their excellent country- and jazz-tinged rock is heavily influenced by mariachi, tejano, cumbia, and other Latino musical traditions that the band members listened to growing up. Great original music. Give them a listen.

Here is a link to a radio station (98.3 FM Imperial Valley-Mexicali-Yuma) that entertains me on drives between Tucson and San Diego. It’s especially fun never knowing whether the commercials will be in Spanish or English, or a mash-up of the two. Their offices are in the farming town of El Centro, CA, which Yer Blogger has reminded me many times is the town that spawned Cher.

I have the most compassion for this group of people, won’t go into details, will sound too much like a political rant. I still like the word Indian.
