You let the reader see through your eyes, listen through your ears, and feel with your heart. It takes courage to be vulnerable and share the secret, sacred parts of your soul.

Concerts back then were all festival seating and I didn’t want to spend my birthday smashed into arms pits at the War Memorial. I didn’t know that my life would change that night. I can still see the sweat flying off Clarence as he blew his horn and Bruce and Stevie playing off each other. Born to Run became the background to my life. “We gotta get out while we’re young, cuz tramps like us, baby we were born to run.” Amazing night, amazing show. I’ve seen Bruce 5 times since then but none compare to that night in a small town hockey arena in my hometown.

It brings back great memories for me. I was there, too! I vividly remember the “East Street Band” posters tacked up on the phone poles in downtown Johnstown and my buddy scoffing over the misprint. I wish I had thought to snag one of them – it would be a great souvenir. It was my second concert ever. I had asked my friend to go to my first concert a few months earlier… KISS! .Yeah, dumb, maybe… but it was fun. Fortunately, he had older brothers who tuned him into what REAL music was and invited me to go see Bruce. With only AM bubblegum music in our house, I don’t think I had ever heard a Springsteen song sung by HIM.

It was a great show. I did recognize “Blinded by the Light and “For You”, since I had heard the Manfred Mann versions; but Bruce’s raw, passionate originals just blew me away. I’ve been a fan ever since but, like you, I think, I still like his old stuff the best. Greetings from Asbury Park and Born to Run are the absolute best, to me. Thanks for the memories. – Keith

This could have been written by my wife. One of the biggest Springsteen fans in the WORLD. Although there are so many that are “the biggest Springsteen fans in the WORLD”. When she reads this she’ll have felt like she was sitting there with you. Mike
